Fall is one of our favourite seasons in this community, and it's not just about the market shift we talked about a few weeks back. As South Surrey and White Rock realtors, we love pointing clients (and friends) toward the best of what the season has to offer, so here's where we're headed this year.
Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch
You don't have to leave South Surrey for this one. Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch, now in its 26th season, is right in South Surrey and open weekends from mid-September through Halloween, roughly 10am to 5pm. Expect a hayride out to the patch, a mini corn maze, and a petting zoo, making it an easy, low-key outing for families.
Rondriso Farms
A short drive out toward Fraser Highway, Rondriso Farms offers a full pumpkin patch experience with hayrides and a general store stocked with fresh produce, pre-picked pumpkins, and fall staples like gourds and cornstalks. It's open daily through October, with shorter weekday hours and longer weekend hours.
Bear Creek Park Pumpkin Train
If you're looking for something quick that still captures the season, the Pumpkin Train at Bear Creek Park is a short, covered ride through a Halloween-decorated forest, tunnel, and bridge, with a pumpkin, treat bag, and craft included. It's an easy, low-commitment outing for younger kids who might not have the patience for a full afternoon on a farm.
White Rock & South Surrey Culture Crawl
For something a little different, the White Rock & South Surrey Culture Crawl typically runs in early October and celebrates local arts, culture, and heritage across the Semiahmoo Peninsula, with exhibits, tours, music, and theatre spread across multiple locations. It's a great way to see a different side of the community than the usual beach-and-brunch outing.
A Few Tips Before You Go
Pumpkin patches around here tend to be at their busiest on weekend afternoons, so if you'd rather skip the crowds, an early weekend morning or a weekday visit (where hours allow) tends to be a lot quieter. It's also worth checking each farm's specific hours and admission costs before heading out, since these can shift slightly from year to year.
Why We Love Sharing This
A lot of what makes South Surrey and White Rock such a great place to live isn't really about real estate at all, it's the community and the seasonal traditions that make it feel like home. We love being able to point people toward the best of what's happening here, whether they're clients, neighbours, or just following along.
